Adult Dance Program - Fall 2007

Acton School of Ballet's Adult Dance Program offers dancers aged 15 and above an enjoyable, non-competitive environment to study ballet modern, or jazz dance with some of the Boston area's best teachers. Fall classes begin the week of September 10.

You can drop in to take adult classes at any time without advanced registration. However, see the policy on registration and tuition, below. See our home page for current information on the summer schedule of classes for adults.

Registration and Tuition

Tuition is $15 per single class, or $145 for a 10-class card.

  • To register for a class you must purchase a 10-class card and designate the class for which you are registering.
  • A class will run only if there are enough registrants to meet a minimum enrollment. After the first three weeks of the session, classes with insufficient enrollment will be cancelled. If desired, students registered for a cancelled class may receive a pro-rated refund on the class card designated for that class.
  • A 10-class card may be used in any class in the Adult Program, including classes other than the class for which it was registered.
  • You may attend classes for which you have not registered, either using a 10-class card or paying the single class rate. Class cards are valid through Summer 2007.
  • Class cards are not transferrable.

Adult Class Attire

Students attending adult classes should wear attire appropriate to the class, but there are no fixed requirements for color. We recommend the Bloch 258 or 203 for adult ballet students, or one of the many styles of canvas technique shoes. Jazz dance classes require jazz shoes; modern dance may be barefoot, dance sandals, or ballet shoes.
