Fall 2008 Class Attire - Syllabus Program
We have changed the styles for Fall 2008 - please read below.
It is important for everyone in class to have a uniform appearance to encourage unity and discipline. In all classes girls are expected to wear their hair up in a bun or other fashion that is neat and away from their face.
Each level in the Syllabus Program, from First Steps through Level 9, has a specific color and style of leotard. All levels require pink tights and pink ballet slippers for girls. Pointe shoes and ballet skirts are required for girls in the upper levels. Male students will wear black tights with black ballet shoes and a white, close-fitting T-shirt.
Patterson's Burlington, Massachusetts is the official supplier of dancewear for the Acton School of Ballet. You may also obtain class attire at Dance This Way in Concord, Danstuff in Acton, Damien's Dancewear in Chelmsford, The Dancer's Image in Newtonville, and Dancer's Boutique in Fitchburg.
Girl's Attire
- Girl's Ballet Slippers
- First Steps, Pre-Ballet, and Levels 1-4: All students must wear full sole leather ballet slippers: either Bloch 205 or the Theatrical 238 is preferred. Capezio 205 or 200 are acceptable as well as other brands, as long as the shoe is leather and a full sole style.
- Levels: 5 and up: Students may wear full or split-soled slippers. We prefer the Bloch 201 leather split sole Prolite. Bloch #261 or 277 split sole in canvas is available for those who prefer a canvas shoe. Other brands are acceptable as long as the fit is correct.
- Girl's Ballet Tights
- First Steps - Level 2: seamed or unseamed, but must be ballet pink footed tights: Danskin # 387 is unseamed, #727 is microfiber seamed, or other comparable.
- Level 3 and up: ballet pink, and must be seamed: Danskin #71 or #725 microfiber

- Level 9 - choice of black leotard (any brand) with pink tights - no skirts
