Program Overview
Acton School of Ballet offers programs for all ages and levels of participation. The core is our syllabus program By the time students graduate from ASB’s syllabus they are often qualified for professional companies, competitive conservatory or college dance programs. However, many students at ASB dance for pleasure and do not seek a professional ballet career, but their education here supports that goal.
Students are encouraged to take supplementary classes to augment the syllabus. Depending on the term, we offer supplementary classes as diverse as Choreography, Ballet Conditioning, French for Ballet Dancers, and Variations.
Each summer ASB offers three weeks of half-day Summer Camp.
Our unique Adult Classes offer ballet classes at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels on a drop-in basis, or though the purchase of a discounted ten-class card.
ASB is proud of its annual Spring Performance, a full-length ballet that features students in the Syllabus Program from Pre-Ballet through Level 10, as well as the Modern and Jazz classes. In 2012 we will be performing our original version of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to the music of Felix Mendelssohn.
